This weekend, I attended the assistant teachers’ training at MEIPN ~ the Montessori Education Institute of the Pacific Northwest. The training took place at Woodinville Montessori School in Bothell, and as part of the training we toured the campus. Woodinville Montessori School is such a hip, urban school, occupying some very modern office buildings. I loved the natural light coming through all of the windows, but perhaps not the strip lights, that occasionally blinked. I loved the serenity of the rooms. I think this had a lot to do with how clean and uncluttered the rooms were. Uniform open wooden shelving also attracted me. One day I hope to go back and see these classrooms in action!
